breakfast at tiffany....almost

Breakfast at tiffany…almost.

I took Sam to the market…decided to pop in to the coffeeshop for breakfast.

I had ‘Char-kui-teow’….fried noodles… [.EXTRA Chilli..boss!...raw cockles..ALSO!!! ]

..2 half boil eggs and iced tea.

Health Rating: TOO RICH…maybe Hazardous to the BACKDOOR….(too spicy).

I was down with flu that evening and was centrifugally morbid for a week…popping anti-biotic and painkillers like jelly beans….going about not knowing what to do or what not to do…to summarize mildly…..I was ZOMBIFIED.

Go feast your eyes on my breakfast >>>>

A different perspective in all its monochrome splendor

Petronas Twin Towers.

Petronas Twin Towers.

To appreciate true beauty…all cosmetically enhanced props and lightings have been stripped to showcase the inherent magnificence of the Petronas Twin Towers.

I, now, understand BEAUTY.

All-You-Can-Eat BBQ

All-You-Can-Eat BBQ.

It was a gloomy day…this afternoon…nothing seems right… was rainy
….business is bad (very)…..staffs giving problems…stock market collapsed
….withdrawal symptoms irritate….Sam’s menopause…..Steady’s ear turns septic
….GOSH!!!!!!...when all else is not well…EAT…and EAT…and EAT first.

So, I took my family to the Mall for the Korean All-You-Can-Eat Barbeque buffet.
…it was FANTASTIC….spiritually UPLIFTING…I ate a horse, so to speak.
We arrived at 1pm….and was there eating until 4pm. I ENJOYED myself thoroughly.
Tomorrow is another day…BRING FORTH.

** It was a GOOD DAY after all.....WHISKY didn't give any problem at the time of posting.

CHINAMAN - Organic farm.

Organic Farm.

The Old Uncle is a Chinese from the Tai Poo Hakka Clan…and typical of a Tai Poo

…they are frugal….honest and hardworking. The backyard was converted into an organic farm..…cultivating a variety of greens the “old ways”, without the aids of fertilizers or pesticides, harnessing the richness of the land. Uncle has been cultivating the land for the past 40 years.

The produce is sold at the local market earning a few dollars a day as extra income…enough to get by and to raise a family frugally. Uncle was a rubber tapper.

His children are all grown up and “Professional”…having families of their own…living in the suburban modern housing estates.

Uncle stays behind with his wife.

si tenggang's homecoming.

si tenggang's homecoming by Muhammad Haji Salleh.

the physical journey that i traverse
is the journey of the soul,
transport of the self from a fatherland
to a country collected by sight and mind.
the knowledge the sweats from it
is estranger's experience,
from one who had learnt to see, reflect
and choose between
the challenging actualities.

its true i have growled at my mother and
but only after having told them my predicament
that they have never brought to consideration
the wife that i began to love in my loneliness,
in the country that alienated me,
they enveloped in their pre-judgement.
i have not entirely returned, i know,
having been changed by time and place.
coarsed by problems
estranged by absence.

but look.
i have brought myself home,
seasoned by faith.
broadened by land and language,
i am no longer afraid of the oceans
of the difeerences between people,
no longer easily snared
no words of ideas

the journey was a loyal teacher,
who was never tardy
in explaning cultures and variousness.
look i am just like you.
still malay,
sensitive to what
i believe is good,
and more ready to understand

than my brothers.
the contents of these boats are yours too,
because i have returned.

travel makes me
a seeker who does not take
what is given without sincerity
or that which demands payment from
the years at sea and in coastal state
have thought me to choose,
to accept only those tested by
or that which matches the roads of my
which returns me to my village
and its comppleteness.

i've leanrt
the ways of the rude,
to hold actuality in a new logic,
debate with hard and loud facts.
but i too
have humanity, respecting
man and life.

i am not a new man,
not very different
from you;
the people and cities
of coastal ports
thought me not to brood
over a foreign world,
suffer difficulties
or fear possibilities.

i am you,
freed from the village,
its soils and ways,
independent, because
i have found myself.
