Indlish.
Indlish.
Indish an English spoken or written by the Indian of the sub-continent.
Some of the funnier home-grown idiosyncrasy:
Pritam Singh has left for his heavenly above – a death notice.
Don’t do nuisance in public – government admonition against urinating in public.
Entry from the Backside only – a phrase commonly used in signpost to indicate the rear entrance of a building.
A government official urged farmer to grow “herbs in their backside” (backyards.)
In railway offices, a standard opening line in correspondence is “ Dear Sir, with reference to the above see my below.”
New recruit wrote an e-mail that began: “I am in well and hope you are also in the same well.”
