Barber Joe says that he has less and less to cut for me but he is charging me more and more….doesn’t make sense.

On the left is Toon Mong, a very successful businessman and even a more successful Top Dog Breeder. His Champion Alsatian cost him $150,000; his pride and joy. The Dog receives Six Stars treatment and provides stud services. The owner doesn’t charge but he will take a puppy of his choice…….each puppy costs $5000. That makes The Dog the most expensive Gigolo of any living species.

Liu Cha

Liu Cha is a vegetarian delicacy of the Chinese Hakka community. As the Hakkas were among the last to arrive to Malaya (Hainanese, the last), The Hakkas were concentrated in the rubber estates and remote outpost. Being the poorest, they concocted the Liu Cha that consisted of at least six types of edible vegetations - grown or found around their wooden shelter; mixed together with rice and groundnuts served with a peppermint shrub soup. It was the food of the poor.

Today, Liu Cha enjoys a revival among the health conscious and it is becoming trendy as many Liu Cha restaurants flourished in the upmarket shopping complexes.

In my opinion, a person can live to a hundred if Liu Cha is the only meal.

I was on my way to Sungei Pelek when I discover this food stall serving above average curry chicken rice at a pre-war price of $3.00/pack. Fantastic value for money, big chunk of meat with a generous helping of vegetables and condiments.

It is also very intelligent and expressive. Each time when I mow the garden, a family of Mynah birds would come and forage for worms from the exposed lawn. The Family nest on the tree right next to my house.

Bell's Palsy.

My friend had Bell’s Palsy, it is not a pet bird nor is it his girlfriend, it is a medical condition that is caused by virus attack on the facial nerve which causes the mouth to slant one side and as a result slur speech and drool.

My friend woke up one morning with that condition and he thought that it was a stroke; he thought it was bye-bye, anyway he rushed to the nearest clinic where the Doctor referred him to a ENT. Specialist.

The Dr. prescribed him with some steroids and after almost a week of inconvenience, he recovered to tell his story. While this condition is not life threatening, it may cause permanent disfigurement of the face if not treated promptly.

I have seen a couple of individuals with this permanent scarring and in the days of the old and probably to the very religious even now – it is a curse or some retributions or penance.

I hope that this piece of information helps. Consult a Dr. immediately not a 'bomoh', sinseh, witchdoctor or a shenanigan if you have this symtom.
